The second time (this past Christmas) we took our daughter and two teen-aged grandsons and the five of us rented Ferrajoli II. It worked out beautifully because the location was unbelievably good. We walked almost everywhere.

It is not elegant. The pictures make it look whimsical, but in reality it needs to be spruced up a bit and the kitchen area is less than ideal because it is so cramped and tiny. But the bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were wonderful, as was the living area. There’s a balcony that would be nice in good weather, but we were there in December/January. We definitely paid less than 200e a night for it!

Dear all in Rome Capital Apartments,

We are back home from our vacation in Rome. It’s been a lovely week, mostly because of all that Roma has to offer, but also because of the apartment we enjoyed. We are very happy with our experience: the location of the apartment was great, it was big, well equipped, and extremely comfortable.

Also, the car service from and to the airport was great. Money very well spent; fast, convenient, and the drivers were kind, friendly, and were there on time.

We will recommend Rome Capital Apartments to our friends, and we will contact you for our next visit to Rome. Thank you very much for your efficiency.

Grazie tante. A presto,

Juan Carlos

I honestly can’t remember how long it took me to wade through dozens of apartment rental sites but I used a reference from Fodorite TedGale (many thanks!) and checked out Rome Capital Apartments.

BINGO! I found what sounded like the perfect fit for us. The Boccaccio apartment was located on Vicolo dei Savelli, 57. This is smack dab between Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori in the Centro Storico. It has 1 bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom and a loft sleeping area with 2 twin beds and a bathroom and a living/dining/kitchen area. The 2 bathrooms was a stroke of genius…in my mind it was a necessity with 3 women traveling together and I was right! Here is the link to the apartment: http://www.romecapitalapartments.com/apartment-dettagli/Boccaccio-140

The apartment is located on the 4th floor and there is a small elevator (3 people could fit in without luggage, one person with 3 small suitcases fit fine). One of the best attributes of this apartment was its location. It was just minutes by foot from not only Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori, but just around the corner was Corso Victor Emmanuel where there are plenty of buses and a few blocks from Largo Argentina with even more bus and tram connections. We loved this neighborhood. Noise was an issue in the evenings when the windows were open, but once the windows were closed it was quiet, I was pretty impressed with how quiet it was with the windows closed.

The Pantheon is a building dating back to the distant Roman Empire, in fact it was built between 25 and 27 BC by Agrippa, precept of Emperor Augustus.

The reason why it was built, was to ensure that even the Romans had a place of worship in which to contemplate the gods.

The name is derived from Latin and means Pan:all and Theon: divine, then this is the reason that today makes us understand the reasons for its establishment.

Domitian in 80 AD, rebuilt it after a fire, thirty years later he was injured by lightning and took fire again, then was rebuilt in the manner in which today we can all admire. The latter form was given by Emperor Hadrian, a period during which the Roman Empire reached the summit of its glow.

The Pantheon has a particular shape, cylindrical, architectural model used in the construction industry but his Roman columns and his outer side are typical of Greek influence.

Despite the novice construction it was very different from what it originally was, the Emperor Hadrian wanted that it was marked on the front of the Pantheon a Latin inscription, meaning: “The built Marcus Agrippa, son of Lucius, consul for the third time “.

This ancient monument is the only one that still retains the unique peculiarities of its kind. It has a masonry Cupola, the biggest in the history of architecture. His architectural work is the best preserved in the world, it is considered the precursory of all existing places of worship, and ultimately it was one of the most ancient buildings and simulated plagiarized.

The area in which it stands is not accidental but it is a mythical place in the history of the capital. According to the history, this was the point where the creator of Rome, Romulus, died when he was still grasping for an eagle and taken up in the sky among the gods.

The Esquilino, through the Roman Empire, is one of the seven hills on which it was founded Rome.

The Esquilino hill, is the highest hill compared to the other six hills, and it was formed by three rises: the Oppio in the southern sector, the Fagutal in the West and the Cispio in the northern part, where is now the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

Very often people confuse the hill with the Esquilino District, the area of Rome Termini called also Esquilino area.

It is in fact a neighbourhood divided by Via Merulana which connects to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and the San Giovanni in Laterano. In the last years, this area consists of a large gathering of native people from outside, especially Chinese, who constitute the largest congregation to Rome, with more than 20,000 people.
