Virgilio Apartment Feedback

Used RomeCapitalApartments for our stay in Rome, and wanted to leave a review for them since I did not see a lot on them in the TA forums. We rented a 3 bedroom apartment in Travestere, called “Virgilio”, and could NOT have been more pleased. We wanted lots of room, good location, and good price and we felt that we made a good choice in choosing this agency. The apartment was cheap enough – 770 euro for an 8 night stay in March.

First – all arrangements (linen instructions, punctuality of the representative meeting us at the apartment, etc.) went without any problems. We paid in full a month up a head of time to lock in a good rate, so I was a little nervous when they were a less communicative then normal after we paid. However, we were covered under the VRBO fraud protection guarantee, so I felt OK about it. However, the rep that met us spent about a half hour explaining how to use the features of the apartment, and she took her time for any questions.

The apartment itself was wonderful and CLEAN, near spotless. Lots of space for my family of 5 including 2 teens – maybe 5-6 times the space you get in a typical larger 1 bed hotel room. Two full bathrooms with new tile work, an equipped kitchen with plenty of plate/cutlery. They left us very appreciated soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The back windows looked out over a quaint courtyard festooned with flower boxes, hanging laundry, and with it’s own set of feral cats, which my daughters loved.

Location was superb. The street was atypical Travestere side street, but not 50 yards from Via Travestere, and the 8 tram (to Largo Argentina), H bus (to the bus/train station), and close to others. Across the street was a Sicilian bakery (fresh croissants and pastries every morning), The Regine pizzeria (really good and friendly – 87 euro for a family of 5!), an alamente, and another restaurant. Frankly, after a long day touring, we enjoyed just frequenting these places. A walk in any direction put you on the charming twisty Travestere streets with a thousand restaurant choices. We were about 2 blocks from Santa Maria in Travestere.

There were some very minor annoyances, but really nothing worth mentioning. I would definately use RomeCapitalApartments again for a stay. A++.
